Why did we use the name “ANNA”.
When Rick Silanskas first had his vision in December of 2002, he did not have a
name to associate with the little girl he had seen. In January, 2003, Rick began
the process of forming this foundation to help all of the children of Russia. His
wife, Stephanie, approached him during this time and suggested a name that would
represent all of the children in Russia and around the world that are in need of a
family.
The name she suggested was “ANNA” which she had heard during a sermon on Luke 2:36-38.
Anna had dedicated her life to worshiping God through prayer and fasting. Because of
her nearly 84 years of faithfulness, God used her greatly to prophesize the coming of
Jesus and encourage Mary and Joseph. The name “ANNA” represents an unwavering faithfulness
to God’s work. We believe that all of the children that are in need around the world can
and will be helped and we know we must not waver from this vision. The name “ANNA” is our
reminder to never give up and keep our eyes on the Lord.
